ROYAL SABRES DRUM AND BUGLE CORPS
Royal Sabres at DC Armory.png

The Drum and Bugle Corps began at the James Reese Europe post in Washington DC in late 1959 at 2027 North Capitol Street Washington, DC.

The Post is a dedication to James Reese Europe bandleader of the 369th

Hell-fighters Army Band of WW1.

It was the home for the Drum and Bugle Corps for 4 years from 1960 until 1964. The instructors for the drum corps were from military bases around Washington, DC.

The kids were part of what organizations from the American Legion, Veterans of

Foreign Wars, Catholic Youth Organizations, Boys and Girls Clubs of America  were

doing to help keep neighborhood kids safe and away from trouble.
